Improving the Load Disturbance Rejection Performances of Imc-tuned Pid Controllers
نویسنده
چکیده
In this paper a new methodology for the improvement of regulation performances of PID controllers, tuned according to the concept of Internal Model Control, is presented. Basically, it consists of adding to the PID output, when no change of the set-point is required, a value that depends on the difference between the system output and the PID output itself. In this way the load disturbance rejection capabilities of the control system can be improved significantly, especially for lag-dominant processes. The use of the additional module of the control system does not require any significant extra tuning effort for the operator, because analytical tuning rules are given for the selection of the new parameters. Simulation examples are given in order to show the effectiveness of the technique. Copyright c 2002 IFAC

PID controller with improved load-disturbance rejection
In this paper a two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) IMC structure is considered for integrating process with deadtime to achieve improved load-disturbance response along with the set-point response. Set-point controller is designed considering desired speed of response of the closed-loop system. The load-disturbance controller is designed through direct synthesis approach and both the controllers are ...
متن کاملEnhanced IMC-based Load Disturbance Rejection Design for Integrating Processes with Slow Dynamics
By revealing the deficiency of existing internal model control (IMC) based methods for load disturbance rejection for integrating processes with slow dynamics, a modified IMC design is proposed to deal with step or ramp type load disturbance as often encountered in practice. The controller parametrization is based on a two-degree-of-freedom (2DOF) control structure which allows for independent ...
متن کاملA Comparison of Different Control Design Methods for the Linearized CSTR Temperature Model
Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CSTR) has particular importance in chemical industry. CSTR has usually a nonlinear behavior which makes it difficult to control. The reactor has two parameters: the concentration and temperature of mixture both of which are uncertain. This case of CSTR has large disturbance in domain. In order for disturbance rejection, a controller has to be designed. In this p...
متن کاملPID lead-lag controller design for second order integrating unstable process
PID Lead-lag tuning formulas are derived for integrating unstable processes based on proposed modified Internal Model Control (IMC) structure. The structure extends the standard Internal Model Control structure for stable processes to unstable processes. To achieve better output response, even in the presence of load disturbance a second order low pass filter is inserted in the loop to reduced ...
متن کاملA Unified IMC based PI/PID Controller Tuning Approach for Time Delay Processes
This paper proposes a new PI/PID controller tuning method within filtered Smith predictor (FSP) configuration in order to deal with various types of time delay processes including stable, unstable and integrating delay dominant and slow dynamic processes. The proposed PI/PID controller is designed based on the IMC principle and is tuned using a new constraint and without requiring any approxima...
